But now you can just record what you want to record. Netcam Watcher's motion detection facility means that only motion is recorded. This cuts down the storage requirements by up to 98%!
Now you can see whether you have an intruder or just something innocent.
Netcam Watcher's motion detection algorithms can be set up to your specific requirements.
Some examples:
* You can start recording on the slightest motion and continue until there is a certain period of zero motion
* You can also record for a period of time before motion occurs.
* You can mask out some parts of the scene for the purpose of motion detection, so a tree blowing in the wind, or traffic passing a window does not trigger motion.
* Configurable darkness level can prevent the noise that occurs on many cameras at night from triggering motion.
* Ability to highlight motion lets you set up the motion detection parameters with precision.
Mask Out Areas that are of no interest.
With Netcam Watcher's masking feature you can mask out areas that can cause false alarms, for example traffic moving past the window, or trees blowing in the wind.
Now NON-Motion detection
As well as recording and alarming when motion occurs, now Netcam Watcher can record or alarm when a certain amount of no-motion occurs. This can be used to detect inactivity where there should always be activity.
This was initially used by one of our customers who wanted to monitor conveyor belts for jamming. By using the non-motion recording facility in conjunction with "record for 10 seconds before motion stops" they were able to capture video of what lead up to a stoppage.
